Learning how to read in English by associating sounds & spellings. In pairs or small groups, one said a word and the others wrote in sand, stamped, pointed, classified and unveiled the words written with invisible ink (white crayon). To improve self-awereness, they did telephone conversations and voice recording of poems in the language lab.
